Black Friday 2026: Countdown and Discount Check

See how long is left and check whether a discount is genuine.

Next Black Friday—

Is the discount real?

Enter both prices to check the discount.

How it is calculated

Advertised discount = (label price − sale price) ÷ label price × 100

Real discount = (lowest price − sale price) ÷ lowest price × 100

Notation

lowest price
the lowest price of the last 30 days

Worked example

  1. Label price 100, sale price 70, lowest price 75.
  2. Advertised: (100 − 70) ÷ 100 × 100 = 30%.
  3. Real: (75 − 70) ÷ 75 × 100 = 6.7%, a saving of 5.

A big percentage on the label does not prove a good deal: the crossed-out price may be higher than what the shop charged last week. A real discount is measured against the lowest recent price, and that is what the check shows.

In the EU, shops announcing a price reduction must show the lowest price of the previous 30 days, so you can usually find the figure right next to the offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

On 27 November 2026. It always falls on the day after the fourth Thursday of November, so in 2027 it is on 26 November.

When is Cyber Monday 2026?

On 30 November 2026, the Monday after Black Friday.

How can I tell whether a discount is real?

Compare the sale price with the lowest price of the last 30 days rather than with the crossed-out price. If the sale price is no lower, there is no real discount.

What is the 30-day price rule in the EU?

Under the Omnibus Directive, a shop announcing a price reduction must state the lowest price it charged in at least the previous 30 days.

Which price should I enter as the lowest?

The one the shop shows next to the offer. If it does not, use a price comparison site with a history chart for that product.
