The working days calendar shows how many working days and hours each month has for a standard five-day, 40-hour week in Lithuania. In 2026 there are 251 working days and 2,002 working hours — the figures confirmed by the Minister of Social Security and Labour (order No. A1-671 of 24 November 2025). Of the 16 public holidays listed in Article 123 of the Labour Code, ten fall on weekdays in 2026 and the rest coincide with weekends.
The working day before a public holiday is shortened by one hour, so in 2026 six days last 7 hours: 10 March, 30 April, 23 June, 14 August, 23 December and 31 December. Holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday are not moved to a weekday. Choose another year and the calendar is recalculated, including the movable holidays — Easter, Mother's Day and Father's Day.

Which days are shortened?
The working day immediately before a public holiday is one hour shorter. In 2026 these are 10 March, 30 April, 23 June, 14 August, 23 December and 31 December. A Friday before a holiday Monday is not shortened, because the day before the holiday is then a Sunday.
Is a holiday that falls on a weekend moved to a weekday?
No. In Lithuania public holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday are not transferred to a working day, and no extra day off is given.
How many long weekends are there in 2026?

Does the calendar apply to other working schedules?
The figures are for the standard five-day, 40-hour week. For shift work, aggregated working-time accounting or part-time work, the working-time norm follows the work schedule and the employment contract.
